Babies have twenty milk teeth while adults have thirty adult teeth. Teeth are important in the human body. The main role of teeth is to chew food making it easier to be swallowed. Human teeth are available even before birth. Gum in the human mouth covers teeth in babies. Three to six months after birth, milk teeth start cutting through the gum and appearing. Incisors teeth pup through the gum first before the other teeth. Pronunciation and chewing is made easier when milk teeth appear in a baby’s mouth. Formation of the crown and root of adult teeth start soon as the baby teeth start falling off. An adult should have thirty-two teeth.

Human teeth are covered with bacteria so cleaning them is necessary. Some bacteria in the mouth are not bad while others are bad. Some bacteria aid in the digestion process. The fact that the mouth is always closed makes it possible to have those bacteria in the mouth. Saliva in the mouth attracts bacteria to the mouth. Teeth and the spaces between them should be properly cleaned to remove these bacteria. Teeth are cleaned using toothbrush presently and other materials were used to clean them in the past.

Tooth enamel protects against tender teeth. The hard part on the outside of the tooth is what is referred to as the enamel. The tooth enamel is very resilient and can withstand many things. Inside tooth parts are very soft and cannot withstand many things. The enamel protects the important soft tissues of the tooth. Teeth should be taken good care of since they don’t have spare parts.
